Historic Brownsville Community, Inc Approves Articles of Incorporation

Historic Brownsville Community, Inc. (HBC), a community association made up of residents, businesses and stakeholders interested in the revitalization and betterment of the quality of life in Brownsville, approved its Articles of Incorporation and elected its inaugural Board of Directors and officers on April 12, 2016.  The bylaws of the organization were approved in January 2016.

One of the newly elected Board Members is Habitat Homeowner, Gladys Phylaw, who owns a business in Brownsville.  Ms. Phylaw has been involved with the organization from its inception in July 2015 and has worked with others in the organization and community to give input on the Brownsville Community Center, which is expected to be renovated and open by March 2017. Gladys has volunteered to work on the planning committee that will be coordinating with the Escambia County Community Redevelopment Agency, currently working with the community on the Brownsville Redevelopment Plan Update.
