Have questions about volunteering on a construction site? Get them answered here!
If you are over the age of 18, print out our Liability Waiver. Fill it out and bring it with you to the site in the morning.
Youth between the ages of 14 and 18 must be accompanied by a mentor over the age of 21 and must have a youth waiver form signed by their parent or guardian. No youth under the age of 18 are permitted on an active construction site; youth under the age of 18 can participate in painting and landscaping activities though!
Other than that, all that is required is that you have fun and take pride in helping in the construction of a home for one of our partner families!
The construction sites start at 8am and run until about 3pm.
We ask that you plan to stay for the whole day, as volunteer slots are limited. If an emergency arises and you cannot stay all day, be sure to let the crew leaders know when you arrive in the morning so that they can plan the day’s tasks accordingly.
No! There are tasks for people of all skill levels to work on. Our experienced Crew Leaders will be on site to help guide all of our volunteers.
Closed toe shoes only. Work boots are preferred but thick soled tennis shoes will be allowed.
Pants and/or shorts must not be tight fitting. Shorts are allowed but must be no higher than mid-thigh. No mini shorts allowed. Undergarments must be covered. No skirts and dresses allowed.
Long sleeve, short sleeve and t-shirts are allowed. No sleeveless shirts, inclusive of tank tops, tube tops, spaghetti string tops, sport bras and halter tops are allowed.
No suggestive or profanity sayings are allowed on any shirt. Fishnet and sheer shirts of any kind are not allowed. Skin must not be exposed in the torso area. Any form of clothing that is tight fitting and/or suggestive is not allowed.
We ask that our volunteers bring their own lunch. The crews break for lunch for about 30 minutes, around 11am, and there will NOT be enough time to leave site for lunch. We have water on site, but we ask that volunteers bring a water bottle with them to keep the cup waste to a minimum
We’ll have all the tools and supplies you’ll need. Volunteers are more than welcome to bring their own hammers and gloves. Please do not bring your own power tools, as this is an issue with liability.
