Sam Young, President & CEO - Pensacola Habitat for Humanity
Sam Young

President & CEO

As we reflect on the past year, I am filled with gratitude and pride for all that we have accomplished together in our shared mission to make homeownership more accessible and affordable for families in our community.

We’re no longer just another face in housing, we’re THE face of affordable housing in Northwest Florida. Our traditional offerings are thriving, as we continue to build more and more homes, to the tune of 53 new homes in this fiscal year.

Looking forward, we are excited to expand our impact even further. In the coming year, Pensacola Habitat for Humanity will launch a new rental program, broadening our services to meet the diverse housing needs of our community.

Together, we are building more than homes – we are building hope, opportunity, and a stronger future for all who call this community home.

Community development partners

The Community Development Program is made possible through partnerships with local government agencies and nonprofit organizations that share our commitment to preserving affordable homeownership in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. These partnerships enable us to leverage resources, expertise, and community networks to maximize the impact of our programs. The Community Development Program operates primarily through a combination of federal funding—when available—and generous support from local corporate donors. These resources make it possible to provide critical housing and neighborhood improvement initiatives that strengthen our community and help homeowners remain in their homes—avoiding relocation or displacement. Simply put, the program would not be possible without the continued partnership and investment of these local supporters.

Homebuyer highlight

Lindsey Family Home

"We are blessed and grateful to have been on this homebuyer journey with Habitat for Humanity. Our faith grew more in trusting God with the process. Since we had acknowledged Him, He was directing our path. God always shows us what is best."

- Mr. Lindsey.

After five years of renting, the Lindsey's were ready for a home of their own, and thanks to Pensacola Habitat for Humanity, that dream became a reality.

They embraced the journey with grace, trusting that every step, even the hard ones, was leading them where they were meant to be.

Choosing the right location was their biggest challenge, but with prayer, guidance from their homebuyer coordinator and faith in the process, they found their perfect fit in a brand-new cul-de-sac where every home belonged to a fellow Habitat homebuyer — neighbors who walked the same path, took the same classes, and now stood together as new homeowners.

Becoming homeowners brought new responsibilities, but also a deep sense of pride, joy, and stability. Their housewarming celebration, filled with food, laughter, and friends, marked the beginning of a new chapter. It was more than a home, it was a blessing, a testimony, and a place to grow in peace and stability.
