Posted January 08, 2026
Pensacola, FL — Pensacola Habitat for Humanity is thrilled to announce their first home sale of 2026, a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home sold at a discounted price and a 0% interest mortgage to Family Promise of Escambia County. This exciting milestone represents the power of community partnerships to provide safe, stable housing for families in need.
Family Promise of Escambia County is a nonprofit organization committed to ending childhood homelessness by supporting families with children in crisis. Right now, there are over 2,000 school-aged children facing homelessness in Escambia County. The organization provides temporary shelter, guidance, and supportive services that help families regain stability and achieve self-sufficiency, giving children and their parents a safe, nurturing place to call home during critical times. This home will allow Family Promise to house up to two families at a time, giving them shelter, warmth, and comfort as they work through the Family Promise program to achieve self-sufficiency.
“This partnership is a perfect example of how organizations can come together to serve families at different points along the housing continuum,” said Sam Young, Pensacola Habitat for Humanity President/CEO. “While our missions differ, they are both essential to building a stronger, more resilient community – and we did that today!”
For Pensacola Habitat for Humanity, this home represents the continuation of a mission to create safe, affordable homeownership opportunities, empowering families to thrive. For Family Promise of Escambia County, it provides more families with a safe and welcoming space as they work back toward stability and independence.
“When families are forced to move from place to place, the stress—especially for children—is constant,” said Lance Williams, Executive Director of Family Promise of Escambia County. “Early conversations with Sam Young helped clarify how Family Promise fits within Escambia County’s housing landscape, and this home offers families the stability they need as they work toward permanent housing. We’re very grateful for Pensacola Habitat for Humanity.”
Both organizations celebrate the shared vision of community, stability, and opportunity, proving that when missions align, the impact multiplies. Follow both organizations on social media to receive updates on this story.
