Pensacola Habitat Looking for AmeriCorps Members for 2010 Term Year

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity is looking for AmeriCorps National Direct members to serve in areas of construction, family services and volunteer coordinating for the 2009-2010 term. Members serve 1,700 hours annually and receive a modest living allowance, health insurance, loan forbearance and an education award of $4,725.

Through a grant written to Habitat for Humanity International, Pensacola Habitat was awarded the opportunity to be an AmeriCorps host site for four AmeriCorps National Direct positions. Applicants must be high school graduates and at least 18 years old.

 Habitat for Humanity International is a Christian organization and welcomes volunteers from all faiths who are committed to Habitat's goal of eliminating poverty housing. Homes are sold with no profit made. Homeowners contribute "Sweat Equity" and house payments are recycled to build additional homes.

Pensacola Habitat For Humanity promotes home ownership with volunteers building houses in partnership with Pensacola residents in need of adequate housing.
