Building homes, community, and hope.

NEW About Our Homes

about our homes

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity creates, preserves, and promotes homeownership because we believe that everyone, everywhere should have a healthy, affordable place to call home. An affordable, stable home impacts every part of an individual’s life—health, education, economic opportunity, and generational wealth.

Upon application submission via the Programs Application Portal, our Programs team will reach out to the applicant to clarify the options they qualify for. Currently, Pensacola Habitat for Humanity offers newly constructed single-family homes, rehabilitated homes, community land trust homes, and brand new market rate homes. Ultimately, the applicant will be able to choose an option based on their eligibility!

single-family homes

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s single-family home floor plans range in size from a 2-bedroom, 2-bath design up to a 4-bedroom, 2-bath design. These are the “traditional” homes built by Pensacola Habitat for Humanity.

If accepted into the program, your house size is based upon income eligibility.

  • 100 Hours of Sweat Equity required

  • Homes may be located across the region as in-fill, also called single lots, as well as a part of larger Pensacola Habitat-built developments

  • Most often you will have the ability to select your interior finishes including flooring, countertops and cabinets from our wide array of options unless choosing a lot with a pre-built spec home

rehab homes

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity's Rehab Home Program revitalizes existing homes, transforming them into safe, affordable, and quality housing for future homeowners. This option allows families to close on and move into their homes more quickly than with a new build and is often more cost-effective. By repurposing these homes, we contribute to neighborhood stability and sustainability, ensuring more families in our community achieve the dream of homeownership. However, rehab homes are not always available, as they depend on the properties we acquire.

community land trust homes

The land trust is an effective alternative to renting for lower-income households seeking the stability of homeownership. It is the vehicle of separating ownership of the land from the home. The CLT builds neighborhood stability, housing equity, and community strength by fostering a healthy mix of housing types, sizes, and prices, affordable at the local wages. Virtually, these homes are the same designs as our traditional single-family homes. The only difference is the ownership of the land.

market rate homes

These award-winning homes have specific income requirements but are not part of our traditional Pensacola Habitat for Humanity Homebuyer Program. Pensacola Habitat for Humanity does not provide home financing on these homes. Purchasing through our Open Market Housing option will require financing through a third-party lender of your choice.
