Community Development Volunteering

Community Development Volunteering

Through our Community Development program (formerly known as Neighborhood Revitalization), we serve more families by responding to community needs with an expanded array of products, services and partnerships, enhancing the quality of life for all.

Community Development volunteering is available on select days as projects arise. There are multiple ways to get involved!

General Volunteers

Community Development general volunteers help with a variety of projects and no training or prior experience is required. These projects include:

  • Painting homes

  • Minor home repairs

  • Handicap accessibility accommodations

  • Landscaping of public space

  • Block condition and other surveys

  • Neighborhood clean-up campaigns

  • Gardening

Skilled Volunteers

The Community Development Skilled Volunteers Team responds to the unmet needs of our community regarding repair, emergency response, and long-term disaster recovery. To join this team of skilled volunteers, you first complete three levels of training. As a part of the Skilled Volunteers Team, you will help the Community Development team with different emergency projects and special projects, such as ‘Rock the Block’ and ‘A Brush with Kindness’, in addition to assistance with long term recovery after disasters in our area. To sign up for the Skilled Volunteers Program, email us at volunteer@pensacolahabitat.org

Community Development Committee

Our Community Development Committee consists of motivated and inspiring people from our service area who have a passion in community development. These members volunteer their valuable time and expertise to help us better understand the needs in our community, connect us with different stakeholders and make sure our community development projects and program are meaningful and impactful. This vibrant group meets monthly to discuss the projects, the issues in the communities and to find ways to address those issues. The members of this committee get involved in identifying, planning and implementing projects and programs.
