Pensacola Habitat for Humanity Leading Local Hurricane Ian Relief Efforts

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Following the catastrophic event of Hurricane Ian hitting south Florida, Pensacola Habitat for Humanity is gathering and delivering emergency relief supplies to support the thousands of individuals and families that were adversely impacted by the hurricane’s path of destruction in recent days.

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity is uniquely positioned to lend county-wide coordination, warehousing and storage, as well as transportation of donated supplies from the local community. The organization will work with local officials, businesses, churches and volunteers to help neighboring Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Hillsborough, Collier, and Lee Counties, located near Tampa, Naples and Fort Myers, for the immediate distribution of goods to impacted individuals, families and communities. These Habitat for Humanity partners will coordinate the local distribution of products gathered and delivered from the greater Pensacola region.

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity is asking their local community members and partners for donations of bottled water (all sizes), non-perishable food items, baby food, plastic silverware, toothbrushes and toothpaste, soap, shampoo, toilet paper, wet wipes, diapers, feminine products, mops, shovels, rakes, tarps, chain saws and more. Donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off Monday – Friday 7:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. at the Pensacola Habitat for Humanity Warehouse located at 300 W. Leonard St., Pensacola, FL 32501.

“We are grateful to have been spared this devastation but are deeply saddened and concerned for our brothers and sisters in south Florida. In times like these, our mission extends beyond our local communities, and we feel a deep responsibility to step in and provide support,” says Sam Young, Pensacola Habitat for Humanity President and CEO.
