Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s Seventh Annual Food Truck Festival - A Big Success

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Pensacola Habitat for Humanity hosted its Seventh Annual Pensacola Habitat Food Truck Festival at Community Maritime Park in Pensacola to raise funds for their mission. All proceeds went directly to Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, communities and hope in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.

This two-day event was filled with 39 diverse food trucks, over a dozen live entertainment acts of all genres, and many activities for adults and children to enjoy. It was an event that truly could be enjoyed by any age group. A staple of the Pensacola Habitat Food Truck Festival is the tasting competition, where many of the trucks submit their top dishes to be evaluated by a panel of judges from across the community. This year’s winners were P’cola Rolla for Best Appetizer, LOL & More for Best Entrée and Anna’s Café for Best Dessert. My Ohana took home the trophy for the People’s Choice Award, this award is given to the truck that had the most votes by individuals at the festival.

“The Pensacola Habitat Food Truck Festival truly exhibits what Community Engagement means to us. Putting together this event was intense, but through the hard work of everyone involved, we pulled off a successful and fun event that brought in a larger crowd than we’ve ever seen,” said Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s Development Associate Cheyenne Farley. “That means more people got the chance to learn a little more about Pensacola Habitat, who we are, and how to engage with us in various ways. This event means more than the vital money we raised; it brings people together to build our community.”

The festival featured other local organizations that provided services and entertainment such as Dillard’s, Boys and Girls Club, Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge, Blue Wahoos and Kazoo, Dawn Crocker – Face Painter, Pensacola ReStore, Trap Snackz, Pensacola Dragon Boat Festival, Pensacola Habitat Women Build, Sweet Kettle Corn, EcoView Windows and Doors and FCI Floors.

“Swinging a hammer is not the only way to support our mission, every single person who was involved in this festival contributed to our immense success,” said Pensacola Habitat for Humanity President/CEO Sam Young. “An event of this scale takes a lot of commitment from our board, staff, volunteers and sponsors, and it shows their dedication to our mission.”

Pensacola Habitat for Humanity wants to thank all of the community members who came and enjoyed the festival, as well as all of the sponsors and volunteers that made this event possible. The community support came from all over including Visit Pensacola, Cox Communications, City of Pensacola, Buffalo Rock Company, Ascension Sacred Heart, Baptist Health Care of Northwest Florida, Clear Title, Anchor Pest Control, Clark Partington, Code Ninjas, Cat Country 98.7, LAS Fencing, T-Mobile, Vista Event Pro, Gulf Coast Traffic Engineers, Blab TV, Kool Karts, TK101, Fox Sports 101.1 FM, First Class Air Support, Florida Insurance Agency, Sandy Sansing, Allstate Scott Westmark & Associates, Bay Area Printing and Graphic Solutions, Keller Williams Realty – The Hoover Group and Gulf Coast Panorama.
