Pensacola Habitat Hosts Annual Pride Build with Support from National Team Up Project

Pensacola, FL – Pensacola Habitat for Humanity will host its Second Annual Pride Build on Thursday, June 5, and Friday, June 6. This vibrant two-day volunteer event brings together members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies to build affordable homes alongside future homeowners, celebrating the power of shared purpose.

Pride Build is more than just construction—it’s a visible commitment to creating a community where everyone has a decent place to live, regardless of background or identity. Volunteers will help build a safe, affordable home while fostering connections and celebrating community. Homes built during Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s construction events like Pride Build, Women Build, and Faith Build are not reserved for individuals from those specific communities; instead, they are available to any approved homebuyer in their program who selects that particular home.

This year’s Pride Build is made possible in part by a generous $20,000 grant from the Team Up Project—a collaboration between YMCA of the USA, Habitat for Humanity International, Catholic Charities USA, and Interfaith America. Team Up is a national campaign that empowers people to build bridges across differences and strengthen community through shared action.

“With Pride Build, we’re not just building homes—we’re building unity,” said Angie King, Pensacola Habitat’s Homebuyer Program Manager. “Thanks to Team Up’s support, we’re expanding that message even further this year.”
