On Friday Dec. 3, Pensacola Habitat for Humanity will host its 5th Annual Pensacola Habitat FORE! Humanity Golf Tournament at Scenic Hills Country Club

The practice range will open at 10:00 AM, and lunch will be served at 10:15 AM for attendees to enjoy before the tournament begins with a shotgun start at 11:00 AM. Competitions include Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and more! There will be a silent auction that includes destination trips and other amazing prizes, along with several "chance to win" opportunities throughout the event.

"This annual event usually brings in over $60,000, and the impact those dollars make can be seen in many areas of our community.  Our annual fundraising events allow us to continue serving our community through our Home Buyer and Community Development Programs.  Support for our golf tournament means support for affordable homeownership right here at home!” said Crystal Scott, Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s Vice President of Development and Communications.

The Pensacola Habitat FORE! Humanity tournament has been a substantial fundraiser for the nonprofit and a fun way for members of the community to get involved.

“When we do our golf tournament each year, we can build half a house. Now half of anything will seem like an odd reason to be excited. Here’s where I believe it’s half a miracle. Every two years, our golf event builds a home for a family currently paying over 50% of their earnings in rent. We build them a home, and their mortgage is about 30% or less of their income. It allows them to pay for braces for their kids, reliable transportation to a better-paying job, or even an opportunity to further their education. I think of it as the house that golf built.”, says Mei Davis, long-time volunteer and Chairwoman for Pensacola Habitat for Humanity.

There are multiple ways to get involved, from signing up a team of four for $600 to hole sponsorships for $2,500. All proceeds from the tournament go towards Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, communities, and hope in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.
