Pensacola Habitat for Humanity Elects Dr. Rev. Gene Franklin as New Board Chairman

Pensacola, Fla.- Pensacola Habitat for Humanity is excited to announce Dr. Rev. Gene Franklin as the newly elected chairman of the Pensacola Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors.

Franklin has been a member of the board since 2018 and has been active on several committees, including finance, land, and governance, and involved with many events organized by Pensacola Habitat. He will serve as chairman of the board for the next two years.

"Gene brings diverse and deep experience holding leadership positions in the military, business, ministry, and community development. We are beyond thrilled to work with Gene and the entire board as we continue to grow the organization and have a greater impact on the community in which we live and serve," stated Sam Young, President, and CEO of Pensacola Habitat for Humanity.

This year, Pensacola Habitat is on track to build 53 homes, nearly doubling their previous year's production of 27 homes. Pensacola Habitat board members seek to fulfill its mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Alongside the newly elected Franklin, Pensacola Habitat will continue to provide affordable housing across Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.

"Pensacola Habitat is a jewel that is doing its part to address a vital need in the community and region. A ministry demonstrating the love of Christ through the works of faith toward those in the margin. Partnering and volunteering with Pensacola Habitat provides an opportunity for all involved to improve the quality of life for deserving families and create a better community for us all," stated Franklin.

Pensacola Habitat is always looking for community members who are passionate about affordable housing to join their committees. For more information on how you can get involved, email info@pensacolahabitat.org!
